Construction is underway on an expansion, renovation and new children’s hospital project at University Medical Center of El Paso. Robins & Morton broke ground on the new $115 million El Paso Children’s Hospital on Feb. 14, 2009. The 5 floor, 218,000 sq. ft. children's hospital will include 50 neonatal intensive care beds, 12 pediatric intensive care beds and 78 pediatric beds.The expansion project includes a 354,500 sq. ft. bed tower expansion and renovation. The project team is surmounting challenges on the projects including working within a tight workspace with no onsite storage or parking by utilizing “just-in-time” delivery and off-site storage facilities. Robins & Morton is using BIM for clash detection and coordination and has a full-time BIM coordinator on site, practices that are sure to mean significant budget and schedule savings for our client.

Holston Valley Medical Center, No. 1 in Tennessee for cardiology services, is undergoing an expansion and major renovation that will bring the latest healthcare design and innovative technology. Project highlights include: Phase one of the Tower D project will include an expanded Emergency Department and Level 1 trauma areas. It will also include: a new 37,000 square-foot intensive care unit, featuring 20 intensive care rooms and 16-step-down rooms; a new main entrance; a 3,500 square-foot addition to the existing main lobby and a 3,500 square-foot addition to the Pathology Department. The project is scheduled for completion in early May of 2010.strong>
 

INTEGRIS HEALTH EDMOND

Integris Health, Oklahoma’s largest health system, is building a new hospital in the city of Edmond. Integris Health Edmond is a New Greenfield Hospital that will include a full service emergency department. The new hospital will have 40 inpatient beds comprised of 24 medical/surgical beds, 6 intensive care suites and 10 labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum suites. The hospital will also be home to four surgical suites. The three-story hospital will be 163,690 square feet, 45,000 of which will be dedicated to medical office space. Construction of the facility will cost $60,000,000 and will finish in the summer of 2011.
