Halifax Health Medical Center
This project included a new 180-bed Patient Tower and Emergency Department featuring all private patient rooms, increased family space and four times the space for emergency services. The 89,000 square-foot emergency department, one of the largest in the United States, has 107 treatment rooms, including 96 modular rooms to meet varying patient demand and needs. Other facility features include structure and mechanical areas built to accept a future 10-story patient tower addition, an 850 space parking lot, an elevated roof-top helipad and a new, 17,500-square-foot central plant designed to serve the entire medical center including the new 10-story patient tower and emergency department.
The 503,559-square-foot project completed July 2009, one month ahead of schedule.
