Description: The new Recreation and Wellness Center project will provide approximately 240,000 sqft of recreational spaces for Auburn students and faculty and staff to use in their pursuit of a healthier lifestyle. The proximity of the new facility creates a direct link to the new Student Village Housing and the existing Intramural Fields. This location also provides a convenient relationship to the Martin Aquatics Center and existing tennis courts.

Key Sustainable Construction Practices on this Project:

 Combination of green roofs and high-reflective roofing will be incorporated

 Alternative transportation credits will be achieved by convenient access to bus lines. Bicycle storage and changing rooms will be provided. Preferred parking for low-emitting/fuel-efficient vehicles will be designated. No new parking will be added

 A whole building approach will identify best economical solutions for optimizing energy performance

 Enhanced commissioning will be utilized

 A lighting control system and a high level of thermal comfort control through control zones for all multi-occupant spaces will be provided
