Description: Robins & Morton wrapped up a 30,000 SF expansion project for Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia one month ahead of the scheduled completion date. The $9.9 million addition is home to 16 new intensive care unit rooms, administrative spaces, updated staff lounges and a revamped HVAC system with larger capacities. Constructed to limit environmental impact and energy costs, the Crisp addition features elements like clerestory windows coupled with radiused ceilings which allow sunlight to filter into the corridors. The project presented several unique obstacles that were overcome by utilizing BIM (building information modeling). Also notable is the approximately $650,000 in savings that were returned to the owner.
