Description: The new Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies is 11-stories and has 273 patient beds, 30 labor and delivery rooms, a surgical unit, a post anesthesia care unit, and a fetal diagnostic care center. The unique design of the hospital features three separate cylindrical wings of varying levels connected to the existing Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), the fourth largest in the country, is designed to provide the highest level of care for high-risk newborns. On the same campus, The Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children expansion included adding 9,000 square-feet of mechanical space on the fourth floor, over 35,000 square-feet of shell space on the second and third floors and a new emergency department trauma center on the first floor.
