Robins & Morton Benchmarks Include Silver LEED
Robins & Morton broke ground on two projects in Opelika and earned a LEED silver rating for a recently completed building on the Auburn University campus.
The Birmingham contractor broke ground for demolition and renovation at Opelika High School and for a new Opelika Power Services Facility. The $40 million high school project includes new classrooms, cafeteria, increased parking and improvements at the stadium. The $3.7 million power facility also will serve as hub to the city’s new fiber optic network.
Robins & Morton also earned LEED honors for the Auburn University Office of Information Technology, which was completed in 2011. “This certification is a significant feat, particularly since 24-hour data centers typically use enormous amounts of energy,” said Phil Yance, vice president of Robins & Morton.
The firm also won a contract as construction manager for a Mayo Clinic expansion in Jacksonville, Fla.
