Robins & Morton Receives Southern Company Triangle Safety Award
On February 20, 2013, Southern Company presented Robins & Morton with their Triangle Safety Award for the Kemper County IGCC Steam Turbine Generator Installation Project in Mississippi. The Triangle Safety Award is a Southern Company honor which recognizes contractors that achieve high thresholds of safety performance.
Robins & Morton was among only eight contractors that met the following award criteria:
- Performed at least 100,000 work hours during the year across all Southern Company sites,
- Sustained no lost time injuries,
- Achieved a Recordable Incident Rate which was below the Southern Company goal, which for last year was 0.5, and
- Caused no interruption of Southern Company production and operations as a result of their work
Bill Morton, President and CEO and Bryson G. Edmonds, Senior Vice President accepted the award for Robins & Morton.
“Safety is a core value of our company, and this award represents part of Robins & Morton’s progress towards fostering an injury-free work environment.” said Jeff Palombo, Corporate Safety Director at Robins & Morton. “We’re focused on actively and consistently holding one another accountable for safety through clear communication and changing behaviors.”
Robins & Morton also received an ABC National and State level Award of Excellence for the Kemper County IGCC Steam Turbine Generator Installation project.
