Robins & Morton Receives Two Green Globes for Porter Memorial Hospital

Robins & Morton’s recently completed Porter Memorial Hospital project has received two Green Globes for its efforts in maintaining sustainability on its Valparaiso, Indiana campus. The 5-story, 450,000 SF replacement hospital has certified their project under the Green Globes Rating System. Similar to LEED, Green Globes is a building design and management assessment program that offers practical and affordable best practices to advance the environmental performance and sustainable characteristics of a project. The rating system evaluates project attributes within seven categories: Site, Energy, Water, Resources, Emissions, Indoor Environment and Project Management. Most notable was the Porter team’s impressively high score for the Management category. The team received 90 of 100% for their use of integrated design process strategies, integration of environmental purchasing, a commissioning plan and an emergency response plan for the project’s construction phase. Congratulations to the entire team!
