Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Cancer Center Achieves LEED Silver

Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Cancer Center has achieved LEED Silver certification from the USGBC. Robins & Morton was the general contractor on the new $12 million, 52,000 SF full-service cancer center. Several sustainable design principles were implemented, including a healing garden with a walking path. Sustainable construction activities included:

  • More than 75% of construction waste was diverted from landfills
  • 20% of construction materials were made from recycled materials
  • 20% of construction materials were manufactured locally or regionally
  • A detailed Indoor Air Quality plan was implemented, maintained and documented throughout construction
  • Low VOC materials were used throughout project
