Construction firm Robins & Morton joined Community Health Development, Inc. (CHDI) on July 28 to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new $16 million Community Health Center in Uvalde, Texas.
The 16,583-square-foot facility includes primary care exam rooms, a pharmacy with drive-up access, dental, medical, behavioral health, and lab services. The center will also have office space for social services, a café, and a 150-person capacity community room.
Phase II of the project will feature a “Garden of Hope,” a dedicated space to honor and remember the victims of Robb Elementary School.
“The opening of CHDI’s new Multipurpose Health Center is a major step in expanding access to high-quality, compassionate care for our community”, said Mayela Castañon, CEO of CHDI. “It also stands as a testament to the incredible work our team continues to do in service of healing and hope.”
“The completion of the Uvalde Community Health Center marks a significant milestone for our community, one that will have a lasting, positive impact for many years to come,” Robins & Morton Division Manager Eric Groat said. “We are honored by the trust Community Health Development, Inc. placed in us to build this exceptional facility that will increase access to important health services.”
Robins & Morton served as the general contractor. RVK was the architect.
