Embassy Suites Gulf Shores Beach Resort celebrated its grand opening Sept. 25 in the City of Gulf Shores, Alabama’s No. 1 tourism destination. Guests enjoyed coastal cuisine, live entertainment, local art, stunning shoreline views, remarks and a sunset toast.

The new eight-story property features 257 all-suite beach-facing guestrooms; the Tide & Table bar and restaurant; a rooftop amenity terrace and pool deck inclusive of The Cove Bar and Sound Wave outdoor entertainment venue; 13,620 square feet of enclosed meeting and pre-function space with a 7,800-square-foot ballroom, an attached three-story parking garage and 7,618 square feet of retail space, including a Starbucks.

The project was a joint venture among DD Partners, Peachtree Group and Woodbine Development Corporation. DD Partners and Woodbine’s roles included development and asset management efforts, with Peachtree Group managing operations for the resort. PFVS served as the project’s architect of record, Robins & Morton served as the contractor, and HBA served as the interior designer.

“The opening of the Embassy Suites Beach Resort in Gulf Shores is more than a project for us, it’s a milestone,” said Peachtree Group’s Managing Principal and CEO Greg Friedman. “As someone who grew up vacationing here, bringing our largest development to life in this community is deeply personal. It reflects the resilience of our partners, the strength of our team and a defining step forward for Peachtree.”

What made the vision for Embassy Suites Gulf Shores possible was the partners’ track record in hospitality and development, as well as DD Partners’ strong relationship with the City of Gulf Shores.

“Embassy Suites Gulf Shores is a testament to the team’s perseverance. Because of the commitment by our partners and the city of Gulf Shores, we now have an incredible destination to serve our visitors and the community alike,” said King Scovell, managing partner and chief development officer at Woodbine.

In addition to its long amenity list, Embassy Suites Gulf Shores Beach Resort also puts guests in prime position for all the region has to offer. The property is footsteps from the beach, which hosts major events like the Hangout Music Festival, the National Shrimp Festival, the Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival (including around-town venues) and the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships. The hotel sits adjacent to the city’s recent $15 million beachfront revitalization project, which was completed in 2018 as part of a master plan to enhance the area. Other nearby attractions include Gulf State Park, the Wharf at Orange Beach, Tanger Outlets, more than a dozen championship golf courses and easy access to the sports complexes in Foley.
