Construction firm Robins & Morton joined Baptist Health to celebrate the ribbon cuttings of two renovations totaling more than $28 million at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville.
The 26,300-square-foot Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center Transplant Nursing Unit renovation on the 11th floor of the Weaver Tower was a conversion for a new 24-bed nursing unit for stem cell transplants, part of the joint care provided by Baptist Health and MD Anderson. The project also included the renovation of four Neuro ICU rooms on the 10th floor of the J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Tower, highlighted by the addition of a specialized Protective Environment/Airborne Infection Isolation room to support patients requiring enhanced infection control and protective environment measures. The construction cost was $16 million.
The 21,250-square-foot Histology and Cytology Lab renovation within the first floor of the Main Tower includes spaces for the histology, cytology, blood bank, and pathology departments. The construction cost was $12.1 million.

Robins & Morton served as the general contractor for both projects. E4H was the architect for the Histology and Cytology Lab renovation, and The Haskell Company was the architect for the Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center Transplant Nursing Unit renovation.
