Robins & Morton celebrates ribbon cutting at Knoxville Center for Behavioral Medicine

Construction firm Robins & Morton, National Healthcare Corporation, Tennova Healthcare and The University of Tennessee Medical Center celebrated the opening of the new Center for Behavioral Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee, on April 7.

The 55,000-square-foot, 64-bed facility will provide psychiatric, emotional and addictive disorder support through inpatient care and outpatient programming. It is the result of a partnership among National Healthcare Corporation, Tennova Healthcare and The University of Tennessee Medical Center.

“With the growing demand for behavioral health resources, we are proud to bring this much-needed facility to East Tennessee,” Robins & Morton Project Director John Galassini said. “We’re honored that National Healthcare Corporation, Tennova Healthcare and The University of Tennessee Medical Center trusted us with this important addition to the community.”

The Center for Behavioral Medicine, scheduled to open this month, sits on a nine-acre site near Middlebrook Pike and Old Weisgarber Road just southeast of the city center and will bring more than 100 jobs to the area.

TMPartners served as the architect and Robins & Morton served as the general contractor.
