Halifax Health, Adams, Robins & Morton, HKS Architects and honored guests joined together to officially break ground on the Halifax Crossing Hospital located in Deltona, Florida, on Dec. 4.
The new 196,000-square-foot addition will expand the current freestanding emergency department. The hospital will include 96 patient beds as well a surgery center, operating suites, and a comprehensive imaging center with MRI, CT, X-ray, mammogram and ultrasound. The hospital’s design will reflect a Lean approach to provide improved operational efficiencies.
“After completing the competitive process, we look forward to working with Robins & Morton once again on the Halifax Crossing project. We had an excellent experience working with them on our France Tower expansion in 2008 – during that project the Robins & Morton team showed their healthcare expertise, commitment to Halifax Health, and excellent budget control. We know they will exceed our expectations once again on this project,” Jacob Nagib, Director of Engineering, Design and Construction at Halifax Health, said.
The expansion and renovation is scheduled to be completed in December 2019.
