Construction firm Robins & Morton joined Remedy Medical Properties and Broward Health to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new medical office building on the Broward Health Medical Center main campus in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on April 30.
The eight-story, 188,000-square-foot facility will include 129 exam rooms, expanding access to high-quality healthcare in Broward County and providing state-of-the-art space for primary care and specialty physician offices. The medical office building is designed for flexibility and scalability and has the ability to expand to 237 exam rooms.
Services will include cardiovascular, pulmonology, primary care, gastroenterology, neuroscience, women’s services, and space for future growth.
The project also includes a seven-story, 300,000-square-foot parking garage with about 700 parking spaces.
“We are thrilled to get the Medical Center MOB project underway, and we are excited about our growing partnership with Broward Health,” said Peter Westmeyer, Founder of Remedy Medical Properties. “Remedy offered flexible development solutions, including a developer-led equity structure and a Charitable Foundation Lease model with Centurion.”
“We are honored to partner with Broward Health on this important project,” Robins & Morton Operations Manager Johnathan Peavy said. “The new medical office building will enhance the patient experience and support the recruitment of top medical professionals to serve the community. We look forward to seeing the lasting, positive impact this facility will have for years to come.”
The project is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
Robins & Morton is the general contractor, bringing extensive knowledge of South Florida’s healthcare landscape. The development was designed by The Beck Group in collaboration with DMZ Architects.
