Following a virtual groundbreaking, Robins & Morton is ready to begin work on the new AdventHealth Riverview Hospital in Riverview, Florida. The 282,000-square-foot, four-story hospital will serve one of the fastest growing communities in Hillsborough County. The hospital is scheduled to open in Spring of 2023 with 80 patient beds and room to expand to 200 beds. The hospital will provide emergency, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology (including labor and delivery), orthopedic and urology services.
“AdventHealth Riverview will ensure this community has access to high-quality care right in their neighborhood,” said Jason Newmyer, President and CEO of AdventHealth Riverview.
For both AdventHealth and Robins & Morton, the project brings the excitement and opportunity of a brand-new hospital for the community. “Building hospitals is what really excites us as a company,” said Robins & Morton Operations Manager Todd Watson. “It’s very fulfilling to build a place that you know will serve the public once you leave.”
“It’s not every day that you get to a build a new hospital from the ground up,” said Newmyer. That has given AdventHealth the opportunity to gather input from both healthcare providers and the public to help guide the design, including patient spaces.
Construction of the new hospital also marks the continuation of a long-standing relationship between Robins & Morton and AdventHealth, said Watson.
“We have several successful projects together,” he said. “We understand the values and the goals of AdventHealth and the ministry and vision they bring to their communities.”
HuntonBrady will serve as the architect.
