Construction firm Robins & Morton topped out CaroMont Regional Medical Center’s new critical care tower in Gastonia, North Carolina, on March 10.
The topping out ceremony celebrates the installation of the final beam of a structure and signifies the structural completion of CaroMont Regional Medical Center’s new addition.
Once complete, the new four-story, vertical expansion will bring 78 additional patient rooms to the CaroMont Regional Medical Center campus. Each floor will have patient rooms, support space, staff space and dedicated family space. Once complete in 2023, the expansion will be 157,000 square feet.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing this important addition for critical care to Gastonia,” Robins & Morton Division Manager Mike Bumgardner said. “We’re appreciative of the trust placed in us by CaroMont to deliver this project.”
Robins & Morton is serving as the general contractor and McMillan Pazdan Smith is serving as the architect.
Robins & Morton has been working on CaroMont campuses since 2013, completing five projects, with four currently underway.
