Owner: Crisp Regional Healthcare System
Location: Cordele, Georgia
Size: 13, 720 sp ft sq ft
Architect: Gresham Smith & Partners
Description: The 13,720-square-foot Emergency Department addition and renovation to Crisp Regional Hospital added 16 beds and nearly tripled the size of the existing ED. This project successfully utilized a partnering approach with the owner, architect and trade contractors. The mechanical, plumbing and electrical trades were selected early and provided valuable input in the design and budget through the construction document development, which allowed Robins & Morton to manage the design to meet the owners budget. The site was very limited and Robins & Morton developed a plan to keep the existing ED fully operational during the construction of the addition by creating a temporary ambulance drive and using an alternate pedestrian entrance. This provided an easy and safe access to the ED for the patients and visitors.
