Description: In 1994, Robins & Morton partnered with HealthSouth to build a state-of-the-art rehabilitation hospital in Dothan, Alabama. The success of the original project naturally led HealthSouth executives to choose Robins & Morton again when it was time for that very same building to be updated in 2012. The need for more space and renovations to the existing building led Robins & Morton to perform both the 12-bed, 17,500-square-foot addition and the renovation of the existing 46,736-square-foot space simultaneously. In November, the addition was the first part of the project to begin. Only after a few short months of addition work, the
renovation part of the project was introduced in February. The addition was completed in August, and the renovation completed in January 2014. In 14 short months, the project team completed one $7,174,382 project with two purposes.
In 2014, this project was awarded first place in the Healthcare Under $10 Million category for Excellence in Construction by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Alabama.
