T-Mobile Birmingham Customer Service Center

When T-Mobile set out to establish a Birmingham Customer Service Center, they enlisted the help of Robins & Morton to oversee the project completion. The projectrequired a complete demolition of the interior systems as well as a complete window and roofing overhaul for better efficiency. The facility also required the addition of 250 parking spaces to accommodate more than 600 employees.

With only five months from beginning to completion, scheduling was the biggest challenge for the Robins & Morton team from the beginning. To keep the project on schedule, Robins & Morton maintained constant communication with trade contractors through daily meetings to ensure everyone was working based on the most current modifications. Along with scheduling challenges, the team also overcame several drawing modifications throughout construction, managing the needed electrical and phone requirements, as well as implementing several innovative processes and procedures to ensure exceptional quality.

In just five short months, Robins & Morton transformed the former Southern Living Media Services Building into a sleek, modern 67,000-square-foot, two-floor office space for the call center. Robins & Morton substantially completed the original scope, plus more than $800,000 of additional work, ahead of schedule.

The entire process, from design to owner occupancy, was handled professionally and courteously. We felt that we had a true partner assisting us through the entire project.

Schedule and quality were the most important part of the project. Our schedule was extremely aggressive due to project requirements, essentially delivering an eight month duration and shortening to five months. Your team’s ability to adapt and overcome unforeseen conditions yet still deliver the project within the original five months was astonishing. Having Robins & Morton as part of our team provided tremendous value and partnership.
