Construction firm Robins & Morton joined UF Health to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new $27 million UF Health Florida Surgical Center expansion on March 12 in Gainesville, Florida.

The 24,000-square-foot addition includes six operating rooms, with room to expand to eight, and a prep and recovery area. The expansion will support outpatient services for total joint replacements and other orthopedic procedures.

Robins & Morton served as the general contractor for the project. Flad Architects was the architect.

“We are grateful to UF Health for the opportunity to expand this facility that will serve the Gainesville community,” Robins & Morton Operations Manager Mark Fernung said. “We look forward to seeing the lasting, positive impact of this project for many years to come.”
