Embassy Suites Gulf Shores Beach Resort

Located at 112 West Beach Boulevard in Gulf Shores, Alabama, the Embassy Suites Gulf Shores Beach Resort is a landmark hospitality development in Alabama’s top tourism destination. The eight-story, 231,461-square-foot property features 257 all-suite beach-facing guestrooms, the Tide and Table bar and restaurant, a rooftop amenity terrace and pool deck with The Cove Bar and Sound Wave outdoor entertainment venue, 13,620 square feet of enclosed meeting and pre-function space with a 7,800-square-foot ballroom, an attached three-story parking garage, and 7,618 square feet of retail space, including a Starbucks. The project was a joint venture among DD Partners, Peachtree Group, and Woodbine Development Corporation, with PFVS serving as architect of record and HBA as interior designer. Robins & Morton served as the general contractor.

The project presented a series of significant preconstruction and construction challenges that demanded decisive leadership and rapid problem-solving. Robins & Morton was selected in the construction documents phase, requiring immediate coordination for shoring and deep foundation systems due to tight property lines. The team also had to build the site up 7 feet from sea level while simultaneously excavating below street level, a technically demanding condition compounded by multiple contractor changes and urgent permit deadlines that required fast GMP development and budget adjustments. On the preconstruction side, Robins & Morton’s initial budget analysis came in more than $8 million over the client’s target. Through a collaborative effort between the preconstruction and operations teams, the team identified $13 million in cost management solutions, of which $8 million was accepted and incorporated into the final project scope. The coastal site also required attention to moisture control, water mitigation, state and federal environmental protection requirements, and an established hurricane preparedness plan, all conditions Robins & Morton was well-positioned to navigate.

Robins & Morton’s leadership was central to the project’s success, bringing deep Gulf Coast hospitality experience, a proven preconstruction process, and a collaborative approach that kept the project on track through complex conditions. The team’s familiarity with the regional market, established relationships with local trade contractors, and track record on comparable beachfront projects gave the client confidence throughout the delivery process. That depth of experience translated directly into results: The resort celebrated its grand opening on September 25, 2025, and has since been named among the South’s Best by Southern Living magazine. From rapid budget reconciliation in preconstruction to navigating a challenging coastal site during construction, Robins & Morton’s leadership transformed a demanding project into a landmark achievement for the client and the Gulf Shores community.
