Novant Health had made a commitment to the Ballantyne, North Carolina, community to break ground on their new medical center, and irrespective of the COVID-19 pandemic they intended to honor it. So, when the rest of the world was shutting down in early 2020, Robins & Morton’s preconstruction team continued to work with designers and the owner, albeit remotely, to get the project “shovel ready.”
Now complete, the new $154 million, 216,236-square-foot Novant Health Ballantyne Medical Center, which includes a 57,509-square-foot medical office building, offers the residents of south Charlotte and northern South Carolina a convenient place to access healthcare services.
The historic site, previously owned by Hall Family Farm, was transformed into a 38-acre hospital and medical office building offering services including emergency care, inpatient, women’s care, expanded diagnostic services, and surgical services. Keeping the tradition of community alive, space for community events were also built to ensure continued connection with South Charlotte residents.
