The Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center is a 230,000-square-foot, 200-bed behavioral hospital on a 54-acre site in Midland, Texas. Developed for the Texas Facilities Commission, the facility provides short-term and long-term behavioral healthcare for patients of all ages. Its program includes inpatient care, a crisis stabilization unit, an outpatient center, a community education center, modern amenities, and new infrastructure.
Delivering a new behavioral health campus of this scale required coordination beyond the hospital building itself. From challenging sitework to stringent quality management for specialized clinical spaces, Robins & Morton connected preconstruction, site preparation, design coordination, stakeholder engagement, and local trade contractor coordination to maintain alignment across the many elements of this large greenfield healthcare development.
Now open, the center strengthens behavioral healthcare access in West Texas by creating capacity for a service that previously had limited regional availability. The campus provides a foundation for behavioral health services while supporting the client’s long-term vision for care, education, and community connection.
