University of Miami Health System and Robins & Morton Break Ground for New Medical Center at North Miami’s SoLé Mia Master-Planned Community

Construction firm Robins & Morton joined the University of Miami Health System to celebrate the groundbreaking of UHealth SoLé Mia. The 7-story, 363,000-square-foot medical center will sit on 10 acres in North Miami’s master-planned community of SoLé Mia, a 184-acre mixed-use project.

When the medical center opens in 2025, UHealth SoLé Mia will serve communities in north Miami-Dade and south Broward counties. The facility will offer academic health care specialties including cancer experts from Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only cancer center in South Florida to earn designation from the National Cancer Institute; advanced vision care from the No. one ranked eye hospital in the country, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute; urological treatments from the Desai Sethi Urology Institute; top-notch care from nationally ranked neurology and neurosurgery programs; and specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, dermatology, physical rehabilitation, and others.

The facility will be the largest outpatient facility for UHealth and will have ocean and lagoon views, as well as a parking garage and open green spaces.

“We are honored by the trust the University of Miami Health System has placed in us in to bring the UHealth SoLé Mia project to life, and we value our long-term relationship,” said Robins & Morton Operations Manager Johnathan Peavy. “It’s also exciting to know that this project marks another milestone in the SoLé’ Mia development project.”
