Duke Health

The relationship between Robins & Morton and Duke Health began in 2012. As Wake and Durham Counties in North Carolina grew, Duke Health recognized the need to expand and enhance their campuses to best serve their patients.

Many of the projects completed to date have been renovations within an active facility. Careful coordination among all parties was critical to ensuring there were no interruptions in the hospital’s continuum of patient care.

In the past eight years, Robins & Morton has completed multiple projects with Duke Health including the Children’s Health Center imaging and recovery renovation, new construction of multiple hybrid operating rooms, a labor and delivery renovation, a pediatric progressive care unit renovation, a pharmacy replacement, an eye clinic buildout, electrical infrastructure upgrades, a cardiac intensive care unit renovation, a curtainwall replacement, an operation room renovation, MEP upgrades, various parking garage repairs, a nurse call installation, and a catheterization lab renovation and equipment replacement. In addition to these projects, there have been more than 30 other renovation and replacement projects completed on the hospital’s Durham and Raleigh campuses.

At Duke Health’s Durham campus, Robins & Morton is currently constructing a new 16,000-square-foot generator hub and relocating major utilities. On their Raleigh campus, the project team is constructing a six-story patient tower addition and central energy plant (CEP). Learn more about the patient tower here.
