The long-standing working relationship between Robins & Morton and Huntsville Hospital first began in 1989 with various hospital additions including a 149,000-square-foot patient tower addition. As Huntsville and the surrounding communities grew, Huntsville Hospital retained Robins & Morton for extensive construction and renovation services that continue today.
Throughout this ongoing relationship, Robins & Morton has encountered and overcome many challenges. The team has always aimed to minimize disruptions, specifically to the active Surgical ICU, which has to remain operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Alongside other usual healthcare challenges, Robins & Morton dealt with several multi-phased projects, which required plans to ease demolition and material delivery coordination.
Over the past 18 years, Robins & Morton has worked with Huntsville Hospital on multiple projects, such as a patient tower and emergency department addition and renovation, new Governor’s Medical Plaza, new Gallatin Street pedestrian bridge, Governor’s Drive replacement bridge, new medical office building, central sterile renovation, NICU and women’s center renovations, new diagnostic clinic and wellness center, rehabilitation hospital expansion, orthopedic buildout, MICU expansion, cafeteria renovation, cardiac prep renovation, operating room renovation, gift shop renovation, heliport modifications and two parking decks.
