Description: The intent of this design/build project is to replace the existing and outdated equipment serving the Lyster Army Health Clinic at Fort Rucker, Ala. This work is intended to improve the functionality of the electrical service and emergency power source equipment, and to provide a system that reduces needed maintenance within the facility. Robins & Morton is responsible for replacing the existing switchgear with a 2500A single-ended gear and the existing generator with a new 500 kW standby generator. The loads in the existing switchgear will be relocated one by one, until all loads are relocated. Because this facility is an active Medical Clinic, phasing for this project has been a challenge. All load relocations are having to be closely coordinated with the facility to prevent any disruption to their normal operations. This project is scheduled to be complete in December 2014.
